With a rich history of over 130 years, located at an elevation between 3,600 to 5,300 feet above sea level, Horana Plantations' Tea Estate are situated in Upcot bordering Maskeliya, in Nuwara Eliya district. The original Tea factories established in 1936 is still being maintained in very good condition and the Teas manufactured here are recognized as Premium Quality Teas, both locally and internationally. With sustainability at the core of our operations, this estate has been certified as ‘Carbon Neutral’ based on the green energy generated from Solar, Forestry initiatives, reduction of Carbon emission and others initiatives aligned to support our overall sustainability agenda.
Gouravilla, Alton and Fairlawn Tea Estates are complete treasure trove for any traveler who seeks to experience the Tea Country surrounded by unspoiled nature and well-manicured Tea Fields. Further, it’s also home for some of Sri Lanka’s native endangered wildlife such as the Sri Lankan Leopard and the Sambar Deer along with endemic birds to Sri Lanka such as the Jungle Fowl, Dull-blue Flycatcher, Sri Lanka white-eye, Layard's parakeet and Blue Magpie (found exclusively in Sri Lanka) which could be easily spotted in these parts.

Fairlawn Falls, is a picturesque waterfall located in the Fairlawn Estate, (Our own Estate) near Maskeliya in the Nuwara Eliya District of Sri Lanka.
The Fairlawn stream originates from the 1810-meter-high Sri
Pada Reserve, contributing to the fall’s flow. As the water cascades down the rock face, it creates a serene and captivating natural spectacle. The lush surroundings and tranquil pools add to the allure of Fairlawn Falls
Gartmore Falls is a little-known piece of paradise and a beautiful waterfall spilling into the Maskeliya Reservoir which is 10 km away from the Tea Centre that could easily be accessed within 30 minutes by vehicle.
Merely 500 meters to the west is Moray Falls. Fed by a stream originating from the Samanala (Butterfly) Mountain Range and ends up at the Muskeliya Reservoir at the bottom of the fall. This fall beautifully cascades in 3 levels before reaching the bottom.
Known as ‘Kew Gap’ in Alton estate, merely 3km from the Tea Factory, there is a point where the traveler could experience a magnificent 180 degree view of the plains which includes the Adams peak and Gouwrawilla Plains.
